Frequently Asked Questions about the Kimberly Public Library Improvement Project
What is happening at the Kimberly Library this August?
The Kimberly Public Library is getting new carpet, paint, and hearing loops installed this August. The renovations are expected to disrupt services for 3-6 weeks.
When will it start?
The library will close on Wednesday, August 13 and remain closed through the rest of that week, opening again with modified hours and services on Monday, August 18.
What are the modified services?
The library will open Monday, August 18 to offer holds pick up, limited browsing, a book sale, and curbside services in a temporary location in the same municipal building that houses the library. Hours are noon-6 pm Monday through Thursday.
How will I know when you are open?
Updates to services will be posted on the website, Facebook, Instagram, along with physical signs on our doors when possible. The most up to date information will be shared in our weekly email newsletter. If you don’t already subscribe to our weekly enewsletter, you can subscribe now by clicking the blue button on the bottom of this page.
Starting Monday August 18, library services are scheduled Monday through Thursday from noon-6 pm in the Evergreen Room.
Where is the temporary location?
Library services will be temporarily housed in the Evergreen Room in the Municipal Building at 515 W Kimberly Ave in Kimberly. Best access will be from the south parking lot, Door 3A.
Where should I park?
Park in the south parking lot near the back of the building. Easiest access to the Evergreen Room is through Door 3A.
Can I still get my holds?
YES! During the renovations, we will be fulfilling holds at this location. You also have the option of changing your pick up location to another InfoSoup library.
What do I do with books I have checked out?
The book drop at the Kimberly Library will remain open during renovations with some exceptions. It will be closed Friday, August 15 through Sunday, August 17 and Friday, August 22 through Saturday, August 23 for parking lot and sidewalk resurfacing. Due dates have been extended on most items, so you are encouraged to keep them until renovations are completed and the library is fully operational again in September. You can also return them to any Infosoup library.
